A Ce0.5Pr0.5Ox soot combustion catalyst has been shaped combining this material prepared in two different structures (nanoparticles and MS-macroporous) a single active phase. Nanoparticles, by reversed microemulsion method, provide high activity to the hybrid material, MS structure, obtained hard template synthesis provides thermal stability improved soot-catalyst contact. nanoparticles present surface area (148 m2/g; 5 nm) redox properties with regard other structures, macropores size of are large enough (around 100 properly disperse inside also host particles, creating reactive environment. As result, as catalyst, mixed loose-contact mode soot, decreased ca. °C uncatalyzed reaction, aging at 800 only difference 75 °C. The as-prepared counterpart dispersing pure ceria on support was for combustion, but almost lost completely upon due sintering.
